Veteran quarterback Joe Flacco will make his first start this season for the New York Jets this Sunday against the visiting Miami Dolphins, ESPN reported Wednesday.

Rookie first-round pick Zach Wilson remains sidelined with a knee sprain and backup Mike White is coming off a four-interception performance in a 45-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 10.

Flacco, 36, was reacquired in an Oct. 25 trade with the Philadelphia Eagles for a conditional, late-round 2022 draft pick. He completed all three pass attempts for 47 yards and a touchdown in a relief effort against Buffalo.

Flacco lost all four of his starts for the Jets in 2020 after Sam Darnold suffered a shoulder injury. Flacco completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 864 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions.

He made eight starts for the Denver Broncos in 2019 after an 11-year run with the Baltimore Ravens that included a Super Bowl XLVII victory and franchise records for wins (96), passing yards (38,245) and touchdown passes (212).

White, 26, passed for 405 yards and three TDs in a 34-31 win against the Cincinnati Bengals in his first career start in Week 8. Through four games, he has completed 66.7 percent of his throws for 953 yards with five touchdowns and eight picks.
