The Cleveland Browns will be without star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for Sunday’s season opener against the two-time defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Beckham Jr., 28, has been recovering from the torn ACL he suffered seven games into the 2020 season. While it was expected that the three-time Pro Bowler would suit up, he’s officially been ruled out for the game.

This most certainly is not a good sign for Odell Beckham Jr. and his Browns, especially with the team set to take on Patrick Mahomes and Co.

As for Beckham Jr. and his status in Cleveland, the former New York Giants star has struggled since the Browns acquired him ahead of the 2019 season. In 22 games with Cleveland, he’s recorded 97 receptions for 1,354 yards while catching just 55% of his targets.

Baker Mayfield will now have to rely on a combination of Jarvis Landry and Austin Hooper to get things done against the Chiefs.
