Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings star QBs to be focus of new Netflix series

The star quarterbacks of the Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings will be the focus of a new series from streaming powerhouse Netflix.

Netflix has become one of the biggest companies in the world when it comes to film and television content. What was a streaming service that showcased old movies and shows is now the home for award-winning work from Hollywood’s best. That also includes the realm of documentary series, where the service has long been at the forefront of the industry.

Now the content giant will be diving headfirst into the world of the NFL with a new documentary series that is set to showcase what it truly is like to be a starting quarterback in America’s most popular sports league.

On Wednesday, Netflix revealed the first trailer for their new series “Quarterback,” which is set to debut on the streaming service on July 12. The show will focus on Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings starter Kirk Cousins, and NFL veteran Marcus Mariota.

Kansas City Chiefs record (2022): 14-3

“Quarterback” will follow the three QBs during the 2022 season and give an inside look at their day-to-day life as they navigate through the highs and lows of an NFL season from very different points of view.

The trio of signal callers worked out to be a perfect mix of talents for Netflix because all three had very different seasons last year. The Kansas City Chiefs face had a career year as he won his second NFL MVP award and led the team to its second Super Bowl win in four seasons.

Cousins had a strong season as he earned Pro Bowl honors for the fourth time in his career and helped the Minnesota Vikings win the NFC North division title. Unfortunately, he was at the center of backlash for the team’s performance late in the year and surprising Wild Card Round elimination by the New York Giants.

In 2022, Mariota debuted with his third team in four seasons and had a very good start to the season as the starting QB for the Atlanta Falcons. But the team faltered midway through the season and as they spiraled out of playoff contention he was eventually benched for rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder.

It should be very interesting to get the behind-the-scenes looks at each outcome for the through QBs.
