Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Carter almost had the most amazing INT you’ll ever see

Philadelphia Eagles rookie defensive tackle Jalen Carter has been a man on a mission since falling to the No. 9 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Carter entered Monday Night Football having recorded seven QB hits, five tackles for loss and four sacks. He’s the top NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate.

The former Georgia standout almost added another highlight-reel play to the mix. With Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes attempting to spike the ball late in the second quarter, Carter slid underneath center Jason Kelce and almist picked off the spiked ball. We’re not kidding. He came so darn close.

This would have represented one of the most ridiculous interceptions in NFL history. In fact, we’ve never seen any defender attempt to pick off a spiked ball. It takes both a genius on-field mentality and great athleticism to even attempt to pull it off.

Alas, it was not to be.

Kansas City would end up getting a field goal to take a 17-7 lead into the half. In no way does that take away from this glorious attempt from Jalen Carter.
