Despite much speculation, United States Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has not chosen Aaron Rodgers as his running mate during the 2024 elections.

This year is only a few months old and it has already had a top contender for one of the weirdest stories of 2024. Last week, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. revealed that he was close to making a choice for his running mate as he makes a bid for the presidency as an independent in November. Yet, what made it strange was who that one of those choices was none other than Aaron Rodgers.

The news perplexed NFL pundits and New York Jets fans concerned their Super Bowl hopes would again be dashed before they truly started. Furthermore, Rodgers has not publicly come out and stated he had no interest in the role or took himself out of the running to ease the concerns of Jets nation.

Well on Saturday, Kennedy JR. did it for him. Media ITE was the first to report that Nicole Shanahan, a California-based lawyer and entrepreneur who was once married to Google co-founder Sergey Brinn would be his running mate and not the Jets starting quarterback.

The outlet also revealed that “The prospect of [Aaron Rodgers’] selection prompted concerns among donors to the campaign.” This means the Green Bay Packers legend and his links to some very fringe conspiracies and bold opinions turned off the individuals who would be funding Kennedy Jr.’s sure-to-fail attempt to be the next president of the United States.

Now Jets fans can focus on Rodgers being ready for camp and hopefully staying healthy so they can make their first run to the Super Bowl since 1969.
