While Aaron Rodgers’ main job is being the starting quarterback for the New York Jets, filling one of just 32 jobs in the NFL, there’s another duty he’s been linked to that has much more rarity. Recently, reports have suggested that Rodgers is being considered to be a viable candidate to become Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate on the independent presidential ballot for the United States. As mentioned, this is a 1-of-1 job. There aren’t any others like it.

Rodgers isn’t the only name mentioned as a potential vice president candidate. Former Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura has also been linked to partnering with RFK JR, but Rodgers’ name remains in circulation for the position.

However, according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, people inside the Jets’ organization don’t actually believe Rodgers would take the job. Yet, those same sources indicate that Rodgers hasn’t indicated to the Jets whether he will or won’t consider the position.

Meanwhile, Rodgers is set to rake in a $37.5 million salary next season, that’s a lot of money to walk away from, plus he’d be giving up a chance at competing for another Super Bowl, an opportunity he may never get again. For the 40-year-old quarterback, walking away from the Jets would be arguably his most memorable act as an NFL athlete, but as mentioned, no one really expects the four-time MVP to hang up his cleats to hit the campaign trail, at least not yet.
