The NFL has been testing out the market in London for a bunch of years now, and the NBA apparently wants to see what the fuss is all about.

According to to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia 76ers will be hosting the Boston Celtics at O2 Arena in London on January 11, 2018. Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald first reported the two teams would be playing in London this upcoming NBA season.

The Sixers enter the 2017-18 season with about as much buzz as any team in the Association. They selected Washington guard Markelle Fultz, who’ll join Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, Dario Saric, three-point specialist J.J. Redick and the rest of the freshly dubbed FEDS.

Internal expectations are sky high. Embiid said he’s aiming for nothing less than a title next season, and Fultz recently said the Sixers can start winning now that he’s on board.

Obviously the Celtics are another hot team. Last season’s No. 1 seed in the East, they added some talent of their own with the No. 3 pick of the draft, Jayson Tatum. He joins Isaiah Thomas, newly acquired Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart and Al Horford — a formidable squad indeed.

It should be quite a lively matchup for the NBA fans in London.
