The Philadelphia Eagles faced an early third down and long to open Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday afternoon in Arizona.
It didn’t take long for Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith to do their thing en route to leading Philadelphia to a game-opening touchdown-scoring drive.
Hurts connected with Smith on three passes for 41 yards, including one of a 23-yard variety as Philadelphia did its thing.

After an initial Kenneth Gainwell touchdown run was overturned on review, the Philadelphia Eagles found themselves with first-and-goal from inside the one-yard line. That’s when Hurts took it in the remainder of the way for the touchdown and a 7-0 Eagles lead.
Those who followed our prop bets for Super Bowl LVII cashed in big time here. The Eagles were +550 to open the game with a touchdown.
An NFL MVP finalist, we also had Hurts at +1.5 touchdowns in the game. After leading the Philadelphia Eagles on a scoring drive in less than just five minutes to open the game, he’s well on his way to beating that total by a mile.
Hurts completed 4-of-5 passes for 54 yards while adding 12 rushing yards and a touchdown on the opening drive. Not a bad Super Bowl debut for the young quarterback.
