The Buffalo Bills will host the Pittsburgh Steelers at Highmark Stadium on Sept. 12 to open up their 2021 regular season schedule.

Some might believe that the focus would be on Buffalo attempting to earn that elusive Super Bowl title. Perhaps, the recent monster contract extension quarterback Josh Allen signed would lead the headlines.

With about a month to go before their regular season opener, the Buffalo Bills are making news for different reasons. They’ll require all fans, staff and vendors on hand for home games to wear masks this season with a caveat.

“Per the updated guidance from the Erie County Department of Health, masks or facial coverings will be required for all fans, staff, and vendors regardless of vaccination status when visiting the indoor settings at Highmark Stadium,” the team said in a statement.”

The Bills did note that those who are vaccinated for COVID-19 will not be required to wear masks in the “outdoor areas of the stadium.”

To say that there’s been a rift between entities in the NFL surrounding COVID-19 and vaccines would be an understatement. The league just recently announced that teams who have a game postponed due to an outbreak among the unvaccinated could be forced into forfeiture.

Meanwhile, multiple NFL players have taken to the media to express their concerns over the league’s stance on getting players vaccinated. That includes none other than Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley.
