Packers assistant coach Darren Perry facing charges for drunk driving

Green Bay Packers safeties coach Darren Perry was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

He is additionally being charged with refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test and unsafe lane deviation, per Paul Srubas of Packers News.

According to court documents, Perry had a blood-alcohol content of between .08 and .15 percent and faces ” license revocation for up to nine months and a fine and surcharges of no more than $665.”

This is the third person associated with the Packers that has been in the news for the wrong reasons this week.

Wide receiver Geronimo Allison was charged with possession of marijuana stemming from an arrest in September, and cornerback Sam Shields is facing two charges stemming from an arrest in October, also revolving around marijuana.

These types of off-field incidents are never ideal. They’re even more frustrating for teams to deal with during the playoffs. And the fact that Perry is a coach is likely even more maddening for the Packers, who are preparing to face the Dallas Cowboys Sunday in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs.
