The San Diego Padres have three Gold Glove infielders in that of Eric Hosmer, Ian Kinsler and the recently signed Manny Machado.
All three showed out big time early during Wednesday afternoon’s game against the division-rival San Francisco Giants.
It started with Kinsler making a tremendous diving play on a hot shot by Brandon Crawford in the second inning.
The next frame saw Machado go barehanded at the hot corner on a slow-hit ball by Yangervis Solarte. Later that same inning, Hosmer made a great play on a foul ball off the bat of catcher Erik Kratz.

There’s a reason why San Diego entered Wednesday’s action with a top-five team ERA in the National League.
The defense has been absolutely legit behind a very green rotation. It’s led to a surprising 7-5 start to the season. Youngster Nick Margevicius was a beneficiary of this Wednesday in San Francisco.
