Venerable longtime sports broadcaster Verne Lundquist will be giving up the last of his remaining broadcasting gigs when he calls his final Masters Tournament this April.

Lundquist, 83, called his final college football game in 2016 and his final college basketball game in 2017, but he has stayed on with CBS to make an annual trip to Augusta National ever since.

This year, his 40th, will be his last, he announced this week.

Lundquist is famous for several calls, including Jack Nicklaus’ (1986) and Tiger Woods’ (2005) iconic victories in Augusta, the notorious Jackie Smith drop in Super Bowl XIII (1979), Christian Laettner’s NCAA Tourney game-winning shot against Kentucky in 1992, Auburn’s “Kick Six” victory over Alabama in 2013 and George Mason’s NCAA Tournament upset of top-seeded UConn in 2006.
