At long last, the Baltimore Orioles have traded Manny Machado. The Orioles officially sent the star shortstop to the Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The trade had some drama to it. The deal seemed all but inevitable during Tuesday’s All-Star Game. But on Wednesday, an apparent snag was reported. Given Baltimore’s history with trades and signings, that couldn’t be ignored.
Twitter had a lot to say about the deal.
A Minor League affiliate of the Dodgers brought the jokes.
BREAKING: MANNY MACHADO will not be reporting to Rancho Cucamonga.
We're just waiting patiently like the rest of you.

Others had a range of emotions.
Manny Machado will be missed whether you liked his attitude at times, gonna miss watching 13 pick up and hit tanks at Camden but Díaz has a chance of being a special player that may need two years in the minors

He might to just that. This trade process was long and drawn out. But if Machado can deliver big for Los Angeles, it’ll all be worth it for Dodgers fans everywhere.
