‘ThiagoCapo12’ wins final berth in eMLS Cup

Thiago “ThiagoCapo12” Vazquez of the Philadelphia Union defeated the Portland Timbers’ Bruno “CPTBRUNO” Albino 9-3 on Saturday in Austin, Texas, to claim the Last Chance Qualifier for the final berth in Sunday’s eMLS Cup.

It was ThiagoCapo12’s third win in the qualifier, after defeating Los Angeles FC’s Pablo “Pabs” Georgakopoulos” in the semifinals and Ben “BENR” Remez of the San Jose Earthquakes in the quarterfinals.

ThiagoCapo12 will be the 12th seed on Sunday and face the fifth seed, Mohamed “KingCJ0” Diop of DC United.

CPTBRUNO won twice to get to the qualifier final, defeating the Columbus Crew’s Giuseppe “Godfather” Guastella in the semifinals and Gordon “Fiddle” Thornsberry of the Vancouver Whitecaps in the quarters.

Godfather knocked off Gustavo “NYC Gustavo” Nascimento of New York City FC and Pabs eliminated Orlando City’s Martin “RemiMartinn” Oregel in the day’s other quarterfinal matches.

The top four players won byes to the second round of the MLS Cup. Those teams are No. 1 Ehsan “Lamps” Zakeri of Minnesota United, second-seeded Paulo “Paulo Neto” Roberto Xavier de Brito Neto of Atlanta United, No. 3 Joksan “Joksan” Redona of Nashville SC and fourth-seeded Niklas “NR7” Raseck of St. Louis City.
