Tanner Lee threw two touchdowns in first quarter … to Northern Illinois

By Jesse Reed

Nebraska quarterback Tanner Lee must not have eaten his Wheaties Saturday morning as the Cornhuskers hosted Northern Illinois. The junior threw two touchdowns before the first quarter was up. Which, normally would be a great thing. Except in this case, he threw them to the wrong team.

In fact, the 112 yards returned the other way trumped Lee’s 96 yards passing in that first quarter.

Lee opened the game with a pick-six that was taken 87 yards to the house by Shawun Lurry. Then he doubled down on his poor outing, throwing a 25-yard pick-six to Jawuon Johnson, which gave the Huskies a 14-0 lead over Nebraska.

That’s not the way to get a win at home.
