New York Jets star Sauce Gardner trolls Aaron Rodgers over VP report

NFL free agency took a back seat some on Tuesday with a crazy report regarding New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The NY Times reported that independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. is considering Rodgers to be his running mate. We. Are. Not. Making. This. Up.

“Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has recently approached the N.F.L. quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the former Minnesota governor and professional wrestler Jesse Ventura about serving as his running mate on an independent presidential ticket, and both have welcomed the overtures, two people familiar with the discussions said.”

Report on Aaron Rodgers potentially being Robert Kennedy JR’s running mate

This pretty much caught everyone off guard. Sure, Rodgers has dabbled in political rhetoric in recent years. But the idea of him giving up his football career for a longshot run at the vice presidency would be all sorts of odd.

Apparently, one of Rodgers’ Jets teammate doesn’t agree. Star cornerback Sauce Gardner took to social media Tuesday night to troll his quarterback in epic fashion.

That’s well played, Sauce Gardner. Well played indeed.

To be clear. Rodgers as vice president is not remotely close to happening. As of March 11, Kennedy Jr. was polling at 15% in a three-way race between incumbent Joe Biden (D) and former president Donald Trump (R).

Even then, it’s fun to think about how much of a circus it would be if Rodgers gave up his Pro Football Hall of Fame-worthy career to join Kennedy Jr. on the campaign trail.
