Free agent running back Dalvin Cook is flying to New York on Thursday for a weekend visit with the Jets, NFL Network reported.

The four-time Pro Bowl selection was released by the Minnesota Vikings on June 9 following his fourth straight 1,000-yard season.

Cook, who turns 28 in August, reportedly was close to a deal with the Miami Dolphins last month. He also has been linked to yet another AFC East team, the New England Patriots.

Cook is familiar with Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers from their time together in the NFC North when the latter was with the Green Bay Packers.

Cook is coming off surgery on Feb. 14, the latest in a series of major shoulder issues that include a dislocated shoulder and torn labrum.

He was slated to earn $11 million in 2023 with Minnesota, where he rushed for 5,024 yards and 43 touchdowns the past four seasons.

The Jets’ depth chart features second-year running back Breece Hall, who is coming back from a torn ACL sustained in Week 7 last season and is currently on the physically unable to perform list. New York also has Michael Carter, rookie fifth-round pick Israel Abanikanda and Zonovan Knight.
