Free-agent defensive end IK Enemkpali is facing at least a four-game ban for breaking Geno Smith’s jaw when they were both members of the New York Jets.

Apparently, the NFL doesn’t take kindly to locker-room scuffles.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the league is set to impose a stiff penalty on Enemkpali for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

As most are likely aware, Enemkpali was upset with Smith when he didn’t show up to a fundraising event over the summer. Enemkpali had paid $600 for a plane ticket that was supposed to be used by Smith to attend the event, and the quarterback hadn’t paid him back.

There were conflicting reports about whether or not Smith deserved to be decked, but Enemkpali was swiftly released by New York after the one-sided fight. Enemkpali landed in Buffalo, with former Jets head coach Rex Ryan, but was ultimately released.

Any team interested in adding him for the 2015 season will now apparently have to wait for a while.
