Hackenberg, the former second-round pick of the New York Jets, has not played in an NFL regular-season game since entering the league in 2016.
Just as we saw during his tenure with the Jets, he was awful in his lone preseason game with the Philadelphia Eagles this past week. In that game, he completed 7-of-16 passes for 69 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions, and he was sacked two times.
Before signing with Philly this summer, Hackenberg was released by the Oakland Raiders, who traded for him this past offseason.
