If the Pittsburgh Steelers want to improve their 4-2 record while taking on the 5-2 Jacksonville Jaguars, they’ll have to do so without Kenny Pickett’s help. The second-year starting QB had to leave Sunday’s game in the second quarter after suffering an injury to his ribs after this hit.
The hit itself was a bit controversial, with several suggesting roughing the passer should have been called due to the defender allowing his body weight to crash down on Pickett. But the referees decided not to throw a flag.
Initially evaluated at halftime, Pickett was expected to return to start the third quarter, but now he’s been ruled out for the rest of the game. Mitch Trubisky has taken over at QB for the Steelers. Trubisky, 29, is in his seventh season and made five starts for Pittsburgh last year.
