Local Pittsburgh reporter mistakes Jerome Bettis for Uber Eats driver

Last Thursday, Pittsburgh WPXI reporter Gabriella DeLuca got excited because she thought her Uber Eats driver had arrived with her lunch. Only, when she knocked on the window of the newly arriving vehicle, she was blown away by a much better surprise: Steelers legend Jerome Bettis.

While Bettis didn’t have any food for DeLuca, she did still get a selfie with the Hall of Fame running back.

In case anyone was wondering, Bettis was not driving a bus.

Yet, The Bus did stop in Pittsburgh for ten seasons from 1996 to 2005, helping win Super Bowl XL on his home field in Detroit, where Bettis grew up. The two-time All-Pro walked off into the sunset after that, but his impact and legacy in Pittsburgh continues to roll on.

  • Jerome Bettis career stats: 13,662 rushing yards, 91 TD
  • Bettis ranks eighth among the NFL’s career rushing yards leaders and ranked fifth at the time of his retirement
