To say that those in Oklahoma are not happy about former Sooners head football coach Lincoln Riley leaving for USC would be the understatement of the decade.

Riley’s departure came as an absolute shock to the entire college football world. And in reality, those existing withi the Sooner State are still not over it.

Here, we provide you example 1,353,541. A new bill introduced in the Oklahoma State Senate by Bill Coleman (R) aims to name a desolate stretch of State Highway 325 “Lincoln Riley Highway.” Mr. Coleman explained why during a recent session. It’s all sorts of great. It’s also all sorts of childish.

“I felt the State of Oklahoma needed an appropriate goodbye to this former head coach whose sudden departure left many in shock, including a team of young, dedicated college players. I found the tiniest section of our most desolate of highways to pay tribute to coach Riley’s exit from Oklahoma football and the state,” Coleman said. “This is only fitting as this is the last three inches one sees before leaving out great state heading west.”

According to reports, Coleman himself would pay for the cost of the signage.

Coleman did not stop there. He made sure Riley knows just how he feels about the head coach’s departure from the Sooners.

“While we are all free to pursue employment elsewhere, there is a level of professionalism that is expected to be adhere to,” Coleman said. “From all indications, professionalism was pretty much absent in how this departure was executed.”

Tell us how you really feel.

No mention of the 55-10 record Riley posted in five seasons as Oklahoma’s head coach or the fact that he led this program back to national relevance. Nothing. Simply, a childish bill using taxpayer money to debate. That’s all sorts of fun.

As for Lincoln Riley, he heads to much larger market with a ton of off-field opportunities for the young head coach. We can also conclude that once Riley leaves Southern California, it will lead news cycles for about a day before the city moves on to the latest high-speed chase.
