NFL insider suggests Odell Beckham Jr. seeking $15 million in 2023

We’re now less than a month away from the 2023 NFL Draft when teams will be working overtime to address their remaining needs. For free agents who remain unsigned, like Odell Beckham Jr., finding a strong landing spot may become even more difficult with teams choosing to take a chance on inexpensive potential at the wideout position.

After the draft, there won’t be as many teams with a strong need to add a top receiver. Then again, for those who missed out on their top targets in the draft process, the desire to patch up their roster with a talent like OBJ could become more desirable.

For now, Beckham Jr.’s still trying to negotiate with teams, hoping to receive an offer to his liking. Many reports have emerged of his rumored asking price, but based on his own revealing, Beckham isn’t interested in signing a one-year, prove-it contract valued at $4 million.

Now, another insider is claiming to know Beckham’s target price in free agency. This time it’s ESPN’s Rich Cimini, who has sources closely associated with the New York Jets, who are reportedly sniffing around the Pro Bowl receiver.

Specifically, Cimini states Beckham, 30, is “thought to be seeking a one-year deal for $15 million.” Cimini speculates a contract worth somewhere between $10 and $12 million may make more sense, at least for the Jets.

It remains to be seen whether anyone will meet Beckham’s salary demands, but he’ll eventually find a home for the 2023 season now that he’s expected to be fully healthy coming off his second ACL surgery. Chances are, it will be with a contender.
