Odell Beckham Jr. weighing offers from ‘multiple’ NFL teams, waiting on one situation

Free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is closing in on a return to the NFL for the first time since he tore his ACL in Super Bowl LVI. One of the best players available in NFL free agency is drawing significant interest from multiple teams.

Beckham Jr, age 30, missed the entire 2022 season after suffering the second ACL tear of his career. A two-time All-Pro selection (2015-’16), the 5-foot-11 wide receiver worked out for more than a dozen NFL teams in Arizona on March 11.

While he visited multiple clubs during the 2022 season, including the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills, the medical staffs didn’t feel comfortable after examining his surgically-repaired knee. After spending the remainder of the year rehabbing, scouts and executives in attendance of his private workout came away impressed and believe he can make an impact in 2023.

According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, Beckham Jr. has offers on the table from multiple teams right now. However, he is waiting things out for the time being to see if the New York Jets complete their trade for Aaron Rodgers. If a deal happens in the near future, Beckham Jr. intends to sign with New York.

While initial reports suggested he wanted a multi-year contract worth $20 million per season, his asking price has since come down. However, there is still no team reportedly offering the exact contract figures he wants.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, teams interested in Beckham are more comfortable offering a deal that provides $8 million guaranteed, with an additional $10 million that can be earned in various incentives.

Beckham Jr. has received interest from the New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens with other clubs said to be in the mix. For now, it appears the Chiefs, Jets and Ravens are the teams most likely to sign him.

When healthy, Beckham Jr. can likely be a productive No. 2 receiver in a good offense. Before his ACL tear in the Super Bowl, he had 593 receiving yards across 12 games with the Rams.
