Nationals sign Joe Blanton to one-year deal

The Washington Nationals continue to add names to their roster with the newest addition being pitcher Joe Blanton, who was signed to a one-year deal.

According to Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post, the 12-year veteran was in Washington Tuesday presumably taking his physical for the team.

Blanton has made his way across Major League Baseball landing on six teams including the Oakland A’s and most recently the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 36-year-old carries a career 4.35 ERA with a 1.333 WHIP and a 99-93 record.

The club has not yet confirmed the deal.
