The Washington Nationals reinstated right-hander Thaddeus Ward from the 15-day injured list on Thursday.

The 26-year-old right-hander landed on the IL on July 3 with inflammation in his pitching shoulder.

Ward made his MLB debut on April 1 and posted a 7.12 ERA in 22 relief appearances before the injury.

He was 0-2 with a 3.52 ERA in six rehab starts across three different levels in the minors.

The Nationals optioned left-hander Joe La Sorsa to Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding transaction.

La Sorsa, 25, was 1-0 with a 5.55 ERA in 19 relief stints for Washington.
