Franchise legend Lincoln Kennedy talks Las Vegas Raiders struggles in exclusive

Josh McDaniels tenure as the Las Vegas Raiders head coach hit a new low on Sunday when his team was embarrassed in a 30-12 defeat to the Chicago Bears, led by undrafted rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent. Bagent, who was making his first start is a product of Division II, Shepherd University.

McDaniels opted to start veteran and career backup Brian Hoyer in favor of the rookie Aidan O’Connell while starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo nurses a lower back injury.

The decision proved to be the wrong one as Hoyer struggled with accuracy and ball placement throughout the game. He finished 17-of-32 passing for 129 yards and two interceptions, including a pick-six.

The Bears offense led by a division II rookie looked more prepared and ran more efficiently than the Raiders offense led by Hoyer, who has made over 40 starts in his career.

Defensively, the Las Vegas Raiders weren’t much better. The Bears gashed the Raiders run defense to the tune of 173 yards, led by another back up, D’Onta Foreman who finished the game with 89 yards on 16 attempts and hit pay dirt twice.

If Josh McDaniels seat was only a little warm heading into the game, it should be on fire following the loss.
