In this pandemic era, it seems like eons ago that we lost NBA legend Kobe Bryant at the age of 41 in a tragic helicopter accident back on Jan. 26, 2020.
The death of Bryant, his daughter and those onboard said helicopter reminds us just how fragile life is. Most of us remember where we were and what we were doing when news broke that the five-time NBA Champion passed.
Past forward roughly 19 months, and we’re once again reminded that the Black Mamba is no longer with us. Kobe Bryant would have turned 43 on Monday. If not for that tragic accident, he’d be celebrating with his family. A girl dad. A devoted husband. Two things that ended up mattering more towards the end of his short life than basketball itself.
As we celebrate Bryant’s birthday, we’re also reminded of the greatness that defined him on the basketball court. Tributes came pouring in on Monday, some of which will lead you to believe you’re slicing some strong onions.
