Jason Avant, who was dumped earlier this week by the Carolina Panthers, now finds himself as the newest member of the Kansas City Chiefs mediocre receiving group.
The Chiefs announced the signing of Avant, who only had 21 receptions and 201 receiving yards while with the Panthers, on Friday evening. Perhaps the presence of a mature Avant working under his old coach Andy Reid will provide some of the much-needed boost the Chiefs desperately need to improve their passing game.
Avant spent seven seasons working under Reid while both were with the Philadelphia Eagles, so it will be intriguing to watch the pair in action once again.

One can’t help but wonder if the Kansas City Chiefs were so completely blown away by losing to the Oakland Raiders on Thursday night they panicked and decided to make some quick changes to the offense before their next game.
