Former MLB Pitcher Bob Welch Dies at 57

It is a sad day around the baseball world. Former MLB pitcher Bob Welch, who made his name known as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1978-1987, has died at the age of 57. 

The Oakland Athletics released a statement on Welch’s death a few minutes ago.

Welch won 27 games and earned the AL Cy Young for Oakland in 1990. He is survived by his three kids and ex-wife. There is no immediate word on the cause of death.
