Neither the Philadelphia Eagles nor the Dallas Cowboys can be feeling good after losing this past Sunday.
Philadelphia was torched by Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings in a 38-20 loss. Meanwhile, the Cowboys were upset on the road by a previously winless New York Jets squad.
In talking about his team’s matchup with the Cowboys for first place in the NFC East next Sunday night, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson had a bold prediction. In fact, he guaranteed a win.
“I know the sky’s falling outside. It’s falling. I get that,” Pederson said Monday on WIP Radio. “But we’re going down to Dallas and our guys are going to be ready to play. And we’re going to win that football game, and when we do, we’re in first place in the NFC East.”
That’s certainly one strategy to take. Give a division rival bulletin board material for a home game.
Though, it could also be Pederson’s way of instilling confidence in his 3-3 team.
Like the Cowboys, Philadelphia has a tough schedule over the next several weeks. That includes outings against the Bills and Bears before a Week 10 bye. The Eagles then take on New England and Seattle coming out of the bye.
