USC quarterback Caleb Williams wowed during his pro day with the school on Wednesday, showing teams exactly why he’s considered a generational talent heading into the 2024 NFL Draft.

Obviously, the Chicago Bears had their brass in Southern California to get a look at their likely new toy. Chicago boasts the No. 1 pick in the annual event (from Carolina) and just recently traded QB1 Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh.

It’s not hard to connect the dots here. Williams will be a member of the Bears once they make their selection at the top of the draft next month.

In speaking to reporters from the site of his pro day in Southern California, the former Heisman winner talked about the newest addition to Chicago’s roster. That comes in the form of Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen who was acquired from the Los Angeles Chargers in a blockbuster trade last week. Williams had nothing but great things to say about Allen.

“He’s at the Bears for a 4th-round pick, which is crazy. He had his best year last year. He’s a beast. Good guy. Awesome dude to be around and he can give you a lot of knowledge,” Caleb Williams said of Allen.

Allen was actually on hand during USC’s Pro Day to get a first look at his likely new quartreback. Williams did not disappoint.

In addition to acquiring Allen from Los Angeles, the Bears boast Pro Bowl wide receiver D.J. Moore. He came over from Carolina in the trade last spring that ultimately brought Chicago the pick it is going to use on Williams. The 26-year-old receiver caught 96 passes for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns.

In reality, Chicago now has one of the best duos of receivers in the NFL. Allen, 31, is coming off a 2023 campaign in which he hauled in 108 passes for 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns. Add in the signing of Pro Bowl running back D’Andre Swift from the Philadelphia Eagles in NFL free agency, and things are set up well in the Windy City.
