According to the United States Golf Association, Caitlyn Jenner will have to establish her own golfing handicap by starting from scratch.
Formerly Bruce Jenner, Caitlyn was a stellar golfer and averaged just slightly over par. His handicap was a remarkable 5.3. However, the USGA now says Bruce Jenner’s handicap is no longer valid.
While Caitlyn starts out new to establish her golf handicap, she may have an advantage. If she plays as accurately as Bruce, she will have even a lower handicap. The good news is that this works out better in women’s golf.
The other news is that Caitlyn will no longer be able to enjoy the nicer dining quarters and other privileges that favor men at the exclusive Sherwood County Club in Los Angeles that Bruce was a member of for 15 years.
In the overall scheme of things, however, golf is only a small piece of the new puzzle the Jenner will have to adapt to in her new life as a female.
