Bulls G Rajon Rondo fined $25,000 for trying to trip Jae Crowder

Rajon Rondo

To add insult to injury (almost literally), Chicago Bulls guard Rajon Rondo has been fined $25,000 by the NBA stemming from an incident in Game 3 that saw Rondo apparently try to trip Boston Celtics forward Jae Crowder.

Here’s the play in question. You can determine for yourself whether that warranted a pretty heavy fine from the Association itself.

Rondo was on the bench for that game after suffering a thumb fracture back in Game 2. For his part, the enigmatic guard indicated that he always looks to stretch out his legs when on the bench during a game.

Game 3 saw Boston pull off its first win over the series, narrowing Chicago’s lead to 2-1 heading into Game 4 on Sunday. As it relates to Rondo, he’ll remain sidelined for this one.
