Broncos brass doesn’t give head coach Vance Joseph ringing endorsement

The Denver Broncos front office is certainly rooting for coach Vance Joseph to get his team out of its current funk. But do Denver’s execs believe he actually will?

Team President and CEO Joe Ellis made it clear that the front office is “pulling for” Joseph. But based on his words, it’s hard to say that Ellis is all that confident.

Joseph became the Broncos’ coach in 2017. That team started 2-0 but sputtered for the rest of the season to finish at 5-11. Denver also started 2-0 in 2018, winning close games against the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders. But after three consecutive losses to the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets, things look much different for the Broncos than they did after Week 2.

Denver is hosting the undefeated Los Angeles Rams in Rams in Week 6. So if Joseph and company are going to figure things out,┬ádoing so before Sunday would be ideal. A blowout loss at home certainly wouldn’t help Joseph get off of the hot seat.
