Braylon Edwards hasn’t played in the NFL since the end of the 2012 season. At his peak, the former Michigan star became a Pro Bowl wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns in 2007. He’d go on to play eight seasons in the NFL, making appearances for the Browns, New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks.

But what Edwards did on Saturday was easily the greatest accomplishment of his 41-year-old life thus far.

According to WDIV News out of Chicago, Edwards performed a heroic act by saving the life of an 80-year-old man who was under attack at a YMCA. The incident occurred when a 25-year-old man violently attacked the elderly figure in a locker room, but Edwards was there to save the day.

Edwards compiled 5,522 receiving yards and 40 receiving touchdowns in his career, and while he’s had several moments to celebrate over the years, his latest feat is one he’ll never forget.
