The Pittsburgh Steelers appear to have a rejuvenated Ben Roethlisberger on their hands this summer, based on comments made by teammate Vance McDonald.

Speaking with WTAE’s Ryan Recker, McDonald said Roethlisberger is “the best” in the league, and that he has a “completely different” approach to training camp this year. He also said Big Ben is “on fire” right now.

Reading between the lines, it sure seems like all the drama that transpired between Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown has sparked a fire in the veteran. Many have predicted the Steelers will experience a let-down season in 2019 without Brown and running back Le’Veon Bell.

It sure seems like Roethlisberger is taking all this personally and has a big chip on his shoulder. Whether that leads to a resurgent season after Pittsburgh missed the playoffs altogether last year remains to be seen.
