One day after profusely apologizing for throwing former teammate Antonio Brown under the bus last season, Ben Roethlisberger opened up more about the fractured relationship.
Speaking to reporters on the practice field, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback said that the rumors of Brown’s discontent at the end of last season were “hard to process” because the last time he spoke with the receiver they left on good terms.
Roethlisberger says he has tried in vain to get in contact with Brown since before the team’s Week 17 game. That matches what he shared about the receiver going all the way back to that point in time.
In the time since the last time they spoke (per Roethlisberger), Brown forced his way out of Pittsburgh.
Of course, Brown himself has made that final point pretty clear throughout the long offseason and continues to do it to this day.
Some might construe Roethlisberger’s latest comments on his relationship with Brown as yet another instance where the quarterback threw his former teammate under the bus. Personally, I would have liked Big Ben to stay away from the finger-pointing game and just move on.
Now, Roethlisberger has invited more drama. No doubt, AB will be all too happy to respond.
