Both the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos could have used improved play from their wide receiver corps in 2023. The Ravens may have had more to work with than coach Sean Payton’s Broncos had, and having a two-time MVP in Lamar Jackson surely didn’t hurt. Yet, that doesn’t mean they won’t need more talent heading into 2024.

For one, Odell Beckham Jr. is set for free agency, and Zay Flowers will need a new running mate next season. As for the Broncos? Their receiving corps has been underwhelming for several seasons now, which has no doubt contributed to the likely pending departure of Russell Wilson too. However, now there’s a three-time Pro Bowl receiver set to hit the market, and he could be a great fit for either team.

Michael Thomas could reunite with Sean Payton on Denver Broncos, or join Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens

At his peak, Michael Thomas was considered one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. The longtime New Orleans Saints wideout led the NFL in receptions for two seasons in a row from 2018-19, and also led the league with 1,725 receiving yards.

But eventually all good things must come to an end, which could include Thomas’ time in New Orleans. The two-time All-Pro is set for free agency after seven seasons with the Saints, and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler believes both the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos could be ideal fits.

“Michael Thomas’ contract with the Saints is set to void, making him a free agent. A few scouts pointed out Baltimore as a good fit. The Ravens likely won’t re-sign Odell Beckham Jr., and they value established veterans at the receiver position. But a reunion with former New Orleans coach Sean Payton in Denver also makes sense. “When he’s out there and healthy, he affects the game,” an NFC scout said.”

If Thomas is eager to reunite with Coach Payton, signing in Denver makes a lot of sense. Yet, that could depend on who will be playing quarterback for the Broncos too. Meanwhile, there is no uncertainty in Baltimore, and they’re already proven contenders, yet he wouldn’t enjoy the same coaching familiarity.
