The downtrodden Arizona Cardinals have a huge decision to make with the fourth pick in the 2024 NFL Draft Thursday evening.

Arizona is coming off an ugly four-win 2023 season. It has won eight games over the past two seasons. Meanwhile, there are still some major questions about whether Kyler Murray can be the franchise guy under center.

Despite all of this, Arizona’s brass still seems to be high on the former No. 1 pick. General manager Monti Ossenfort and Co. view him as the guy moving forward.

Does this mean that Arizona will let Murray have some say in what it does with that all-important fourth selection Thursday night? The quarterback sure hopes so.

“I’ve put my foot on the table for a couple guys in the past. It didn’t work out. But I got full faith in the guys upstairs. I know who I want. We’ll see if it happens,” Murray on Cardinals draft plans.

It’s not really too hard to read between the lines here. Murray is likely banging the table for former Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. He’ll undoubtedly be available at four with the first three picks in the NFL Draft expected to be quarterbacks.

This makes sense, too. Arizona traded away Rondale Moore earlier in the offseason and lost Marquise Brown to the Kansas City Chiefs in NFL free agency.

Even then, it’s highly doubtful that the Cardinals’ brass will put too much stock in Murray’s opinion. As a quarterback, he’s subjective in nature. He wants more targets.

Arizona has also been linked to trade-down scenarios in the draft. That could come into play once the team makes its way to the podium in Detroit Thursday evening.
