Andrew Luck admits he wondered whether he’d ever play again

Andrew Luck’s road to recovery was full of setbacks. Looking back, it’s no surprise the Indianapolis Colts quarterback had doubts about his NFL future.

Zak Keefer of the Indianapolis Star reports Luck acknowledged he had “one or two moments” wondering if he’d ever play again.

Luck, who says his arm is getting stronger and stronger, is expected to play about a quarter during the team’s preseason opener Aug. 9 against the Seattle Seahawks.

After missing all of the 2017 season, any live-action snaps for Luck will be a relief to him, Colts fans and the organization.

Luck underwent surgery on his shoulder and stayed overseas to recover. The NFL world constantly wondered when he’d resume throwing and, when he was, if the footballs were regulation size.

Former Colts coach Chuck Pagano summed up the situation by saying Luck had been through hell.

But now, the recovery is mostly behind him. The doubts are long in the past. Luck will return to the field against Seattle, and barring any surprise or setback he’ll be ready for Week 1 in September, too.
