Adam Jones throws shade at Terrelle Pryor

The Cincinnati Bengals are taking on the Cleveland Browns Sunday. One of the best matchups will be Terrelle Pryor going up against Adam Jones, who isn’t impressed by his opponent.

Both teams enter the game as supreme disappointments. Cincinnati has won just four games all year after entering the season with championship aspirations. Cleveland has won nary a game and appears destined to finish without a single notch in the victory column.

That doesn’t mean these two teams won’t be giving it their all, however. And comments made by Jones regarding Pryor will certainly add a bit more fuel to that competitive fire.

“He pushes off, every route. He’s an OK receiver,” Jones said, per Jim Owczarski of the Cincinnati Enquirer. “They do feature him a little bit so he does get more looks than a guy who would be in his situation. He’s just a guy to me. … We played him last game and he didn’t do sh-t.”

It’s worth noting that Pryor did manage just two receptions for 18 yards the last time these teams played. It’s also worth pointing out that he was playing with quarterback Kevin Hogan after Cody Kessler was knocked out of the game with a concussion. Hogan was miserable passing in that game, going 12-of-24 for 100 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions.

Perhaps there’s more to Jones’ comments than a disdain for Pryor’s abilities on the field, however.

“Yeah,” Jones said. “I don’t like him. You can put that in there.”

This time around it’s going to be Robert Griffin III behind center, and he can certainly get Pryor the ball (watch here).

It’s going to be interesting to see if Pryor gets a bit chippy going up against Jones, who’s known for being a bit of a trash talker on the field. Hopefully the quarterback turned receiver can focus on just beating his opponent on the field and lets his play do the talking for him.
