Browns head coach: Odell Beckham Jr. is ‘free and clear’

Speaking with reporters Thursday, Browns rookie head coach Kevin Stefanski said Beckham will be ready to practice when training camp begins, noting, “He’s free and clear.”

Additionally, Stefanski noted that the team’s other star receiver, Jarvis Landry, looks good to go as well after offseaon hip surgery.

Odell Beckham Jr. had surgery after enduring painful injury most of 2019 NFL season

Last season wasn’t a banner campaign for Beckham, who was expected to elevate the Browns offense to new heights. He put up decent stats, averaging 14 yards per reception on 74 catches while hauling in four touchdowns.

However, the impact he was expected to provide never showed up.

After the season, it became readily apparent why that was the case. Beckham shared that he had been dealing with an extremely painful core muscle injury that nagged at him since before training camp last summer. He gutted through the injury, playing in all 16 games during the regular season.

Then in January, Beckham underwent core muscle surgery. He’s been rehabbing like crazy since and looks to be in phenomenal shape (watch here). As a result, the superstar receiver expects to be better than ever in 2020.
