Free agent CB Rashard Robinson suspended 10 games

Free agent cornerback Rashard Robinson has been suspended the first 10 games of the coming NFL season, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

Robinson, who was released by the New York Jets in May, has almost certainly been suspended for another violation of the NFL’s Substance of Abuse Policy. He was suspended the first four games of last season due to a positive test for marijuana.

Not long after the news broke, Robinson apologized for his actions.

The former LSU star was originally a fourth-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2016. He was eventually traded to the Jets for a fifth-round pick in 2017, ahead of the 2018 NFL Draft.

The past three seasons with the 49ers and Jets, Robinson appeared in 38 games, earning 15 starts. For his career, he has tallied 64 tackles and two interceptions.

This suspension likely will result in Robinson remaining a free agent until late this season, assuming he is signed at all.
