The divorce between former team president Magic Johnson and the Los Angeles Lakers took a turn earlier this week when Johnson indicated that Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka backstabbed him.

It all stems from Pelinka apparently telling the Lakers’ brass that Johnson was lazy on the job in his two-plus years as president.

In responding to this notion, former Miami Heat guard and future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade backed Johnson up in a big way.

One of the best players in the history of the game, Johnson is well respected around the league. Though, his decision to abruptly resign late during the regular season caught a ton of people by surprise.

It’s interesting that Wade would respond in this manner. He’s best buds with a central figure within the Lakers’ organization, LeBron James. For his part, Mr. James seems to think that the drama developing behind the scenes could impact Los Angeles’ efforts in free agency.
