DeMarcus Lawrence once again throws shade at Eli Manning ahead of Week 2

Not for the first time, Dallas Cowboys pass rusher DeMarcus Lawrence has taken a not-so veiled shot at New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

Before the 2018 NFL Draft, Lawrence trolled Manning with a funny tweet that included a couple images of him sacking the veteran gunslinger.

On Friday ahead of Week 2’s battle between the NFC East rivals, Lawrence was at it again. Funny enough, he began by saying he couldn’t talk bad about a Super Bowl champ. Then he threw shade at Manning anyway.

“I mean he’s a Super Bowl champ, so you can’t sit here and talk bad about Eli,” Lawrence said, per ESPN’s Todd Archer, “but then again he is a pocket quarterback. He’s going to look down his target. Once his targets ain’t there, then I mean, he’s got to take the sack. He’s already in the pocket, so he ain’t going to be able to just throw it out. Sometimes that’s smart football and sometimes I feel like it’s fear. Take it how you want.”

“…and sometimes I feel like it’s fear.”

So, essentially we have Lawrence saying Manning is scared to throw the ball sometimes.

These NFC East rivals needs no additional bulletin-board material to make for compelling battles. But we have some here, and it’s going to be fun watching Sunday’s game in Dallas to see who comes out on top of this one.
