The long road to recovery for Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier after he suffered a spinal cord injury last season has had its ups and downs.
Shazier, who has already been ruled out for the 2018 season, is doing everything possible to return to the NFL gridiron. Whether it’s minor steps in recovery or tremendous goals he’s set for himself, Shazier has acted like an inspiration to many people out there.
Here, we see the Pro Bowler hanging out with the New York Yankees during batting practice prior to their game against the Blue Jays in Toronto.

As you can see, Shazier is still using canes as he’s standing there with members of the Yankees. It’s truly a representation of just how long of a road this has been for the former first-round pick.
Despite this, it’s absolutely great to see the linebacker out and about as he recovers from such a devastating injury.
