Report: LeBron James won’t meet with Cavaliers during free agency

LeBron James

While the Cleveland Cavaliers remain hopeful that LeBron James will return to them, they will not have the chance to try and persuade him in a meeting during free agency.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, the 33-year-old forward has no plans to sit down and talk to the Cavaliers in a meeting during the free agency period. While Cleveland remains in contact with James’ agent, no meeting is scheduled for the immediate future.

James, who opted out of his contract, is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Cleveland and the Los Angeles Lakers are the early favorites to land him, though the Philadelphia 76ers will also certainly try and lure him to join their young core.

Wherever James decides to sign, a decision is expected to come early in free agency. Now NBA fans across the country just wait at the ticking clock until we learn where the league’s best player will take his talents to next.
