Kam Chancellor placed on IR by Seahawks

Kam Chancellor

The Seattle Seahawks have placed four-time Pro Bowl safety Kam Chancellor on injured reserve, ending his season. They also waived offensive lineman Mark Glowinski, and promoted cornerback Mike Tyson and linebacker Kache Palacio from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, per the team website.

The Seahawks had been holding out hope that the neck injury Chancellor suffered might eventually heal up enough for him to return. However, there have also been reports to indicate this injury might threaten Chancellor’s career.

Appearing in nine games this year for Seattle, Chancellor had tallied 33 tackles, two pass break-ups and a safety before being injured.

Seattle (8-5) is preparing to host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 15, one game behind its NFC West foe for the division lead. Chancellor joins the likes of Cliff Avril and Richard Sherman as key defenders who have been lost for the season due to injury.
