Report: Despite riots, NFL planning on playing game in Carolina

As unrest continues in Charlotte after yet another police-involved shooting, there were reports earlier on Thursday indicating that the NFL and the Carolina Panthers were considering moving Sunday’s game from Charlotte (more on that here).

While that appears to still be on the table, the league is reportedly proceeding under the belief that the game will indeed be played as scheduled.

As NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport is reporting, the league is monitoring what’s happening in Charlotte. This is a clear indication that things could change should the ugly events take an even uglier turn between now and Sunday.

Carolina is set to host the Minnesota Vikings at Bank of America Stadium Sunday afternoon.
